Lauren Giddings Murder

Reward offered in Lauren Giddings slaying

Macon police announced a $12,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the Lauren Giddings slaying.

At a Wednesday afternoon news conference with CrimeStoppers representatives in Village Green, Macon Police Chief Mike Burns refused to discuss the evidence in the killing and dismemberment of the 27-year-old graduate of Mercer Law School.

Late last week, police said they anticipated getting results early this week from the FBI's crime lab on 74 pieces of evidence sent for analysis.

Crime scene investigators removed additional bags of evidence from the apartment of Giddings' neighbor, Stephen McDaniel, late Tuesday.

When asked if police expected to make an arrest in the case today, Burns replied, "I don't see that happening."

Anyone with information in the case is urged to call Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at (877) 68CRIME.
