Voters return to the polls Tuesday in two Middle Georgia races.

Six Republicans want to be the next state senator for an area that stretches from Warner Robins to Dublin.

The candidates for the state Senate District 20 post are: Vivian Childs, Brooks Keisler, Jon Martin, James Pettis, Michael Reece and Larry Walker III.

The seat came open earlier this year after Ross Tolleson of Perry resigned for heath reasons.

A runoff, if needed, would be held Dec. 29.

In Forsyth, a runoff is being held for the City Council Post 2 seat.

The race for the unexpired term pits Alleta Mays against Chris Hewett.

Mays got 419 votes last month to Hewett's 348. Neither one of them picked up the required majority to win the race outright.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
