Early voting ends Nov. 25 in state Senate District 20 race
Early voting ends the day before Thanksgiving in the Dec. 1 special election for the Georgia Senate District 20 seat vacated by Sen. Ross Tolleson.
Six Republican candidates are vying for the seat: Bonaire businessman Brooks Keisler; Houston businessman Larry Walker III; Perry businessman Michael Reece; Warner Robins youth minister Vivian Childs; Kathleen businessman James Pettis; and Laurens County businessman Jon Martin.
The district covers Bleckley, Laurens and Pulaski counties and a portion of Houston County.
In Houston County, early voting is being held weekdays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the following locations: The Board of Elections office in Perry at 801 Main St.; the Houston Health Pavilion conference center at 233 N. Houston Road; and Central Georgia Technical College, Building G, at 80 Cohen Walker Drive, according to a news release from the elections office. Those sites also will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
In Laurens County, early voting is being held in suite A of the courthouse annex building at 117 E. Jackson St. The polls will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. weekdays and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
In Bleckley County, early voting is weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Voter Registrar's Office on the second floor of the courthouse in Cochran at 112 N. Second St. That voting location will also open Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
In Pulaski County, early voting is being held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays at the courthouse annex in Hawkinsville at 105 S. Lumpkin St. That site also will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
For those voting on Dec. 1, ballots will be cast at voters' normal precincts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. If a runoff is necessary, it will be Dec. 29.
