Early voting begins in Houston County for state Senate race
Early voting in Houston County began Monday for the Dec. 1 special election for the Georgia Senate District 20 seat vacated by Sen. Ross Tolleson.
Six Republican candidates are vying for the seat: Brooks Keisler, of Bonaire; Houston businessman Larry Walker III; Perry businessman Michael Reece; Warner Robins youth minister Vivian Childs; Kathleen businessman James Pettis; and Laurens County businessman Jon Martin.
The district covers Bleckley, Laurens and Pulaski counties and a portion of Houston County.
Early voting is being held at the Houston County Board of Elections office in Perry at 801 Main St., according to a news release from the elections office. Additional early voting locations opening on Nov. 16 include the Houston Health Pavilion Conference Center and Central Georgia Technical College, Building G.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Dec. 1, and the same hours on Dec. 29, if a runoff is necessary.
