Former President Donald Trump made a false claim that he won Bibb County in the 2020 election during a video appearance at a Jason Aldean concert over the weekend.

The concert, which benefited people impacted by Hurricane Helene, played a video of the former president speaking during the show. According to a post on Jason Aldean’s Instagram, which also featured a clip of Trump speaking, the concert raised more than $7 million for recovery efforts.

“I love Macon,” Trump said. “We took Macon by a lot, so I like it when I take it.”

Videos of Trump claiming he won Bibb County as well as some of his other remarks during the concert were uploaded to TikTok and went viral. Many comments under the video expressed support for the former president.

But Bibb County voted for President Joe Biden by a margin of more than 20 points in 2020, according to data from the Georgia Secretary of State’s office. About 61% of Bibb County voters that election voted for Biden, while about 38% voted for Trump.

The 2016 election saw similar margins. Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton won Bibb County by about 20 points, according to data from the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.

Since he lost the 2020 election, Trump has spread repeated false claims that the election was stolen by Biden and Democrats. He was indicted in August 2023 in Fulton County on allegations of attempting to convince state elections officials to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results, which went for Joe Biden.
