Early voting in runoff election begins today
Early voting in the Georgia nonpartisan/primary runoff election begins today and runs through Aug. 7. Here’s what you need to know about the races and how to vote:
How to vote early
In-person early voting is available at the Macon-Bibb County Board of Elections office (2525 Pio Nono Ave. in Macon). The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Before you go, you can check your voter registration status online via the Georgia Secretary of State’s “My Voter Page.”
To vote, you’ll need to show a valid form of ID, such as a state driver’s license or U.S. passport. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you should wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.
Voting by mail
You can also submit your vote via an absentee ballot. To request an absentee ballot, fill out an absentee ballot application, which you can download from the Secretary of State’s website. Fill it out and mail it, fax it, scan and email it or drop it off in person at the Bibb County registrar’s office, located at the election board office.
Once you have received your absentee ballot, fill it out and mail it to the county registrar or hand-deliver to the election board by the close of polls on Election Day (Aug. 11).
