More than 1,800 people have voted early in Macon. Here’s how you can too.
More than 1,800 people have cast their ballot in Macon-Bibb County during advanced early voting, and two weeks remain for those who would like to vote early in the June 9 election.
Advanced early voting started May 18 with 331 ballots cast that day at the Macon-Bibb Board of Elections office at 2525 Pio Nono Ave., and early voting will continue through June 5, according to a Board of Elections news release.
A total of 1,876 people have voted in the election that includes state and federal positions as well as county seats.
The polls are open from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Every county in Georgia is required to hold one day of early voting on a Saturday, and Macon-Bibb County’s Saturday voting will be held from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on May 30.
Voting with an absentee ballot is still possible. Absentee ballot applications are due on June 5 for the June 9 election.
Voters can visit www.mvp.sos.ga.gov to do the following.
- Request a sample ballot
- Get an absentee ballot application that can be mailed or emailed to the Board of Elections
- Check your voter registration status
- Receive polling place information
- Register to vote although the deadline to register for the June 9 election was May 11
Absentee ballot applications can be emailed to absentee@maconbibb.us, mailed to MBC Board of Elections, P.O. Box 6297, Macon, Georgia, 31208, or faxed to 478-621-6119, according to the release.
