Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, one of five candidates seeking the Republican nomination for president, is scheduled to make a Saturday appearance at a rally in Perry.

The rally is scheduled from 3:30-5 p.m. at the Miller-Murphy-Howard Building at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter, according to a release from the fairgrounds.

The event is free to attend.

The visit by Cruz comes just three days before Georgia's presidential preference primaries Tuesday. The Republican candidates are Dr. Ben Carson, Cruz, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and businessman Donald Trump.

On the Democratic side, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is battling Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

More details of the Cruz visit -- including others who may attend Saturday to lend their support -- could be forthcoming Friday after campaign calls Thursday night. He is scheduled to have another rally in Atlanta before heading down to Perry.
