Twiggs County clerk promoted to administrator

After two years without a county administrator, Twiggs County recently promoted its county clerk to fill the position.

Garner Mercer took on the title and responsibilities of county administrator last month after several rounds of interviews, Twiggs County Commission Chairman Kenneth Fowler said.

The position was last held by Terry Bates.
