One Bibb County precinct will remain open until 8 p.m. after a “temporary failure” of election equipment delayed voters for almost an hour, according to the Macon-Bibb County election board.

The Howard 1 polling place, located inside Northway Church at 5915 Zebulon Road, experienced a delay from 7-7:45 a.m. when the location first opened. The Superior Court issued a ruling to extend the time to 8 p.m. to allow for a full 12-hour voting period.

The primary election features several significant statewide races and a handful of local contested ones. For full coverage of Middle Georgia voting results, visit macon.com.
