Lottery ticket worth $1 million sold at Florida grocery store. Here’s where
A woman decided to buy a lottery ticket during a run to a Florida grocery store — and received a life-changing windfall.
Patricia Ryan won a $1 million prize in the $1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular game, the Florida Lottery announced July 9. She bought her lucky ticket at a Winn-Dixie store at 4870 North Kings Highway in Fort Pierce.
The Vero Beach woman turned her $50 ticket into a second-tier prize in the scratch-off game that’s been running since February 2023, beating the 1-in-185,709 odds to win $1 million, lottery records show.
Ryan made the trip up to Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee to claim her prize as a $640,000 lump sum, according to lottery officials.
Fort Pierce is the seat of St. Lucie County, about a 70-mile drive north from West Palm Beach.
