Powerball player wins $2 million in Florida. Where was the ticket sold?
A Powerball player in Florida just missed the $204.5 million jackpot, but still won $2 million.
The player’s ticket matched five of the winning numbers, 1, 29, 37, 56, 68, but missed the Powerball number, 13, in the Saturday, May 31, drawing, according to the Powerball website.
The ticket was sold at Peacock Liquor in Port St. Lucie, according to the Florida Lottery.
The player added the Power Play which took the win from $1 million to $2 million.
One other player in New Hampshire also hit for $2 million using the Power Play, and a player in California hit the $204.5 million jackpot.
More than 580,000 other Powerball players in the United States won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000.
The Powerball jackpot is now reset to an estimated $20 million with a cash option of about $9 million for the next drawing on June 2.
Port St. Lucie is about a 50-mile drive northwest from Palm Beach.
What to know about Powerball
To score the jackpot in the Powerball, a player must match all five white balls and the red Powerball.
The odds of scoring the jackpot prize are 1 in 292,201,338.
Tickets can be bought on the day of the drawing, but sales times and price vary by state.
Drawings are broadcast Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:59 p.m. ET and can be streamed online.
Powerball is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
