Lottery player wins $1 million prize on $20 ticket in Florida. Where was it sold?
A lucky player in Florida won a huge prize from a scratch-off game in Florida, lottery officials said.
Andres Hoyos turned a $20 Gold Rush Limited ticket into a $1 million win, the Florida Lottery announced in a Nov. 20 news release.
Lottery officials said Hoyos bought the lucky ticket from a Key Foods supermarket in Kissimmee, about a 22-mile drive south from Orlando.
He chose to take his winnings home as a one-time payment of $795,0000, the release said.
Including Hoyos’ win, nine out of 100 $1 million prizes remain, lottery officials said. The odds of winning are 1 in 756,000.
The Gold Rush Limited game — which launched in September 2021 — also features 32 $5 million top prizes and several other prizes ranging from $20 to $100,000. The overall odds of winning are 1 in 2.65.
