Hostess reveals Twinkies mystery flavor, but it won’t stick around. Here’s what to know
Twinkies’ biggest mystery has finally been unwrapped.
Hostess, with help from social media influencer Dude Dad, revealed the flavor of its Mystery Flavor Twinkies in a video posted to Instagram on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
The limited-edition snack cake launched exclusively in Walmart stores in July.
“Do you think it’s really worth it for us to hire a pilot just to write ‘blue raspberry’ in the sky?” Dude Dad’s wife said in the video.
“Not anymore,” he replied.
Hostess teamed up with Dude Dad, whose real name is Taylor Calmus, to launch the snack featuring a golden sponge cake with a mystery cream filling.
Customers were invited to share their guesses as part of a national contest for a chance to win a year’s worth of Twinkies snack cakes, according to the company.
“I can’t wait for consumers to get their hands on the new product and see what adventurous flavor they think the crème filling may be,” Calmus said at the time.
Mystery Flavor Twinkies will be available at Walmart stores through the end of October, Hostess said.
