Lottery player turns $20 ticket into life-changing prize in Florida. Where was it sold?
A fortunate lottery player turned a $20 ticket into a life-changing win in Florida, lottery officials said.
Charles Dennison, 59, won a $1 million prize from the Gold Rush Legacy scratch-off game, Florida Lottery officials said in an Oct. 16 news release.
The ticket was sold at a Winn-Dixie grocery store on Roosevelt Boulevard in Jacksonville, which received a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning scratch-off, the lottery said.
Lottery officials said Dennison decided to take his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.
The Gold Rush Legacy game launched in April, the lottery said. The odds of winning the $1 million prize are 1-in-3,008,565, and there are 14 prizes left to be claimed as of Oct. 16.
The game has three $10 million top prizes remaining, according to the lottery.
