‘Now we can relax’ wife says after seeing husband’s big lottery win in Maryland
A dad of four put his wife’s mind to ease when he showed her his winning lottery ticket in Maryland.
He had won $200,126.
The 32-year-old man from Hagerstown bought a Racetrax scratch-off ticket when he stopped at a 7-Eleven for a snack in Frederick, the Maryland Lottery said in an Aug. 17 news release.
He used his “special numbers,” put the ticket in his pocket and went to work, lottery officials said.
When he checked his numbers at a later time, he realized he won $200,126 and called his wife.
“I had to physically show her how I won for her to believe me,” he told the lottery office.
Eventually she did believe him.
“This just feels so good. Now we can relax a bit,” his wife said.
The lucky winner has plans to use his money to buy a new home and “leave a legacy for his family.”
Frederick is about 50 miles northwest of Baltimore.
