A welfare check and ‘foul odor’ lead to decomposing body in Hawaii home, officials say
A man’s decomposing body was found in a Hawaii home after a friend did a welfare check and smelled a “foul odor,”, police said.
Police were called to a home about at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, in Mountain View, where they found a “badly decomposed body” on the floor, according to a news release by the Hawaii Island Police Department.
The body, which has not been identified, was transported to a local hospital and an autopsy is scheduled for later this week, police said.
Police believe foul play may have been involved in the man’s death, according to the news release.
