‘Secret fairy tale cottage’ lists for $1.4 million in California. But what’s so secret?
An adorable hidden treasure nestled in the Hollywood Hills has graced the real estate market in Los Angeles for $1.395 million and is akin to some famous Disney settings, according to the listing on Zillow.com.
And it has even captured the attention of a popular social media page with its familiar style.
The “secret fairy tale cottage” with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,026-square-feet is located in a canyon and comes with a plethora of Disney-like features. But what’s the secret? It possibly stems from the fact that the design of the home is akin to that of Roland E. Hill, the architect behind Sleeping Beauty’s castle at Disneyland, the listing says.
Yes, that means it comes with stone stairs, a bridge, dramatic balconies and views galore.
“The house has been further upgraded by the award-winning designer Joshua Cain of Saxony Design build, with intricate woodwork, stained glass, and leaded windows,” the listing says.
And if the kitchen feels a little familiar to a keen Disney mind, it’s because it is.
“The state of the art accessories are seamlessly integrated alongside the cozy old-world luxuries, including a living room fireplace, hand-carved wooden balcony, and designer kitchen cabinets reminiscent of Snow White’s House,” the listing says.
The charming house caught the eye of fans of the Facebook page Zillow Gone Wild who, while admiring its appeal, also brought along playful jokes.
“’Be our guest, be our guest, put our tiny kitchen to the test!’” one person sang in the comment section.
“Crazy how location has a dramatic effect on price. Where I’m from that kind of money gets you the house, 50 acres, the prince, horse, (carriage) and maid,” another said.
“It would make a fun playhouse for a rich family’s children,” someone noted.
“But does it come with forest animals to clean your home?” one person asked. “What about mice that sew? If not, that’s a deal breaker.”
“Was it originally a kids playhouse? Or an in-law suite for an evil step-mother?” another pondered.
“Kind of disappointed that there’s not a wishing well,” one person observed.
