Betty the narcotic detector dog helped sniff out “dirty” meth-filled diapers heading from Texas to Australia, officials say.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, alongside Betty, stopped the shipment of “firm and unusually heavy” baby diapers as it went through the port of Cincinnati on Nov. 11, according to a Monday, Nov. 22 news release.

Betty was working freight that day when she alerted officers to the diaper shipment, officials said. In the package, officers found “plastic wrapped baby diapers.”

Authorities tested what was hidden inside the diapers, and they confirmed more than 4 pounds of methamphetamine were stuffed inside.

“The Port of Cincinnati officers are taught to look outside the box when looking for narcotics and they do a wonderful job finding those illegal shipments,” said Cincinnati Port Director Richard Gillespie, adding that smugglers hide drugs in “anything and everything” — including “dirty” baby diapers.

“Our officers are committed to keeping our country and communities safe from illegal and dangerous drugs,” said Director LaFonda Sutton-Burke with the Chicago Field Operations. “This seizure is one example of the quality enforcement work they do on a daily basis.”

Last month, officers at the port of Cincinnati seized methamphetamine hidden in clay sculptures of kittens wearing antlers and holding presents.

Also in October, officers at Chicago O’Hare Airport’s International Mail Facility discovered that “decorative beads” were actually Ivermectin tablets from China.
