Checkers worker shoots upset customers through walk-up window, Georgia police say
A fast-food worker shot two customers who were angry about their order at a Checkers in Georgia, according to media reports.
The customers ordered chicken wings at a walk-up window at the restaurant in Dekalb County late Tuesday night, but they received the wrong order, the manager told WSB-TV. They yelled and threw wings at the worker while he was remaking the order, the TV station reported.
The worker, who was identified as 24-year-old Johnte Robinson, then shot at the customers through the window, striking one and grazing another, the mother of one of the victims told WGCL.
One of the victims was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where his condition was unknown, according to WAGA.
“I’m thanking God that God spared my son. It was God’s grace,” Tracy Farley, the mother of the other victim, told WAGA.
She told 11 Alive the second victim “was fighting for his life.”
Images from the Atlanta Journal Constitution show bullet holes and shattered glass from the walk-up window and discarded chicken on the counter.
Robinson was charged with aggravated assault, according to the Journal Constitution. He has also been fired, the store’s manager told WSB.
