Macon resident wins six figures in Georgia Lottery game. How big was the prize?
A Macon resident hit the jackpot and won over $450,000 on a lottery drawing last week, according to a news release from the Georgia Lottery Monday.
The resident purchased the Fantasy 5 ticket on the Georgia Lottery mobile app and matched all numbers, according to the Georgia Lottery. The five numbers were 01-08-14-22-26.
Fantasy 5 tickets can be purchased statewide at Georgia Lottery retailers, according to the news release. Tickets can also be bought on the app or online. Jackpots start at $125,000, and drawings are held daily at 11:34 p.m.
Proceeds from the Georgia Lottery games such as Fantasy 5, Mega Millions, Quick Win, and Diggi Games “benefit education in the state of Georgia,” according to the news release.
“All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program,” the news release said. “More than 2.25 million students have received HOPE, and more than 2.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.”
