2 Georgia Lottery players win big during Christmas week in Macon & Milledgeville
Forget a sleigh full of gifts. Two Middle Georgia residents scored thousands of dollars from the Georgia Lottery the day before and after Christmas, the company announced Friday.
A Milledgeville player spent $3 on a Mega Millions ticket with a Megaplier and wound up with a $30,000 prize on Christmas Eve. The Megaplier tripled an initial $10,000 prize.
A Macon player won $10,000 thanks to a Georgia 5 drawing on Thursday. The ticket was purchased at Pelican Food Store at 3970 Houston Avenue in Macon.
Try topping that, Santa.
The Mega Millions drawing was held at 11 p.m. Monday, and the winning ticket was purchased via the Georgia Lottery mobile app.
Georgia 5 drawings occur daily at 12:29 p.m. and 6:59 p.m.
Four other winning lottery tickets were purchased in Stonecrest, Cumming, Thomson and Rome, Georgia.
It was unclear whether the winners claimed their prizes by Friday afternoon. Winners have 180 days to cash in before a ticket expires.
