Mega Millions lottery winner bought ticket in Perry, GA. Next drawing is one of the largest
A lucky winner hit the $10,000 Mega Millions drawing thanks to a ticket bought in Perry, the Georgia Lottery announced Monday.
The ticket for the drawing on Dec. 20 was purchased at Circle K at 1424 Sam Nunn Blvd. The winning numbers were announced at 11 p.m. that day.
“The ticket matched four of the five winning numbers,” which were 2, 20, 51, 56 and 57, Georgia Lottery said in a news release. It also matched the Mega Ball, which was 19 with a Megaplier of 2x.
The unknown winner had not claimed their prize by Monday afternoon, according to Taryn Jacobs, corporate communications manager for Georgia Lottery.
The seventh-largest Mega Millions raffle, which multiple states can play, is set for Christmas Eve, with a jackpot of around $944 million.
Only 13 Mega Millions jackpots have been won in December since the raffle began in 2002.
Mega Millions winners in Georgia have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize. The drawings occur twice weekly, with a growing jackpot until it is won.
