Macon-Bibb recognized for budget presentation

Macon-Bibb County has been recognized for excellence in budget presentation.

The Government Finance Officers Association recently announced that a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award was given to Macon-Bibb for expertise in areas such as financial plan and policy document. A Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation was presented to Julie Moore, Macon-Bibb assistant county manager for budget and strategic planning.

The Government Finance Officers Association serves 19,000 elected officials and finance practitioners. The budget awards are given to the department or person “primarily responsible for its having achieved the award,” the news release said.

“The award represents a significant achievement by the entity,” the release said. “It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.”
