The Macon-Bibb County Public Works Department had a successful food drive debut.

The department received more than 4,100 items over an eight day period for the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank. The boxes were loaded into a truck and delivered to the agency on Friday, according to a news release.

“This was our first year doing this, and I’m very proud of our crews and how they really took ownership of this,” Public Works Director Marvin Land said in the release. “We also want to thank all the people that donated so that we can support people in need at Christmas.”
