Houston County holding substitute teacher drive in September

Interested individuals will have a chance to apply as a substitute teacher in Houston County next month.

The human resource department for Houston County schools will accept applications through its employment website from Sept. 8 through Sept. 15.

To serve as a substitute, candidates must meet several criteria. First, they must hold an associate’s degree, two years of college coursework, 60 semester hours or pass a paraprofessional assessment. They also must hold a teaching certificate, certificate of eligibility or a substitute’s certificate from any Georgia county.
