Health department hosting carnival for vaccines, other services

The Macon-Bibb County Health Department will host a Back to School Carnival this week.

On Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m., families are invited to the department’s location on 171 Emery Highway for immunizations and screenings. Students who receive those services or have already been immunized will receive a free backpack, while supplies last.

There will also be a variety of community partners present to provide services and prizes, which will include drawings for bicycles and a Kindle Fire.
