Warner Robins grad named National Merit scholar

Recent Warner Robins High School graduate James Luppino has been named a National Merit scholar.

The STAR student for Houston County in 2016, Luppino plans to attend Auburn University to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. National Merit scholarships provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study.

Luppino was also a Law Day scholar and member of award-winning academic teams, such as the Warner Robins High Quiz Bowl team. Also a soccer player, Luppino plans to continue charitable work he started as a high school student in college and beyond through the Engineers Without Borders organization.
