Mount de Sales student gets opportunity in U.S. Senate

Logan Bates, a rising Mount de Sales Academy senior, has just wrapped up a term as a page for U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga.

Bates served in the position from Feb. 1 through June 10. Isakson’s website describes the Senate Page Program as an “enduring tradition” that first began in 1829. Senate page duties include preparing the Senate chamber for sessions, delivering legislation and correspondence inside the congressional compound and distributing statutes and amendments on the Senate floor.

Bates has a 4.0 grade point average at Mount de Sales and was recently inducted into the World Language Honor Society for French. Other activities include community service, cross country, basketball and track.
