Bibb schools honored for math efforts

The Bibb County school district was recently honored for its math efforts.

Ascend Education announced that due to the outstanding Ascend Math results in Bibb schools, including Ballard-Hudson Middle School this year and Howard Middle school last year, the company is awarding its first ever Gold Medal District Award to Bibb County.

In its implementation of a blended learning model that includes online applications, Ballard-Hudson saw the following results, according to a news release from the district: 86 percent of students gained one or more grade levels in math, 41 percent gained three grade levels and 18 percent gained four grade levels.
