Howard junior selected for Grammy Camp

Howard High School junior Ashley Pointer is headed to New York this summer.

The violinist was selected for the Grammy Camp in New York, which will take place July 31-Aug. 8, The camp is a nine-day residential program that offers selected high school students an interactive summer music experience.

The camp focuses on all aspects of commercial music and provides instruction by industry professionals in a creative environment with cutting-edge technology in professional facilities. The program features six music career tracks: audio engineering, electronic music production, video production and motion graphics, performance and a performance instrumental track for bass, drums, guitar, keyboards, and winds and strings. All tracks culminate in media projects, recordings and/or performances.
