Houston County students chosen for Law Day scholarships
Six Houston County students got scholarships from the Houston County Bar Association at Law Day recently.
The students were chosen by a panel of judges based on their essays with the theme of “Miranda — More Than Words.” Warner Robins High School’s Richard Senter won a $1,000 scholarship, while fellow Demon James Luppino won $500, as did Veteran High School’s Kaitlyn Fowler and Kelsey Tavalero, Houston County High School’s Amber Coy and Perry High’s David Forsee.
Speakers for the day included Superior Court Judge Katherine Lumsden, Houston County Board of Commissioners Chairman Tommy Stalnaker, Houston County Bar Association President Monica Wilburn and District Attorney George Hartwig.
