Warner Robins High School principal dies
On Tuesday, Warner Robins High School principal Steve Monday died.
He had been out of the school for some time dealing with health issues, and assistant principal Chris McCook had been appointed as interim principal.
Cindy Flesher, deputy superintendent for Houston County schools, expressed the district’s “great sadness” about Monday’s death.
“This is a great loss to our community and district and especially to his school, Warner Robins High,” Flesher said in a released statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”
Monday, a 1984 graduate of Warner Robins High School, had been permanent principal at the school since 2005. He also served as interim principal for several months before that after coming on as assistant principal at the school in 2000.
Business education teacher Stephanie Dale tweeted about the news of his death.
“Please pray for @WarnerRobinsHS our principal, Mr. Steve Monday, passed away this morning; please pray for God's peace for his family & kids,” she wrote.
