Perry High School’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America students recently brought home medals from the Georgia FCCLA State Leadership Conference in Athens.

More than 1,700 middle and high school students attended general sessions, workshops and competed in events. Eighteen of Perry High’s students competed in six events, and all of them won either gold or silver medals.

Jansley Wilson, Michael Dobson, Julian Briola, Grace Peavy, Maddie McKLeroy, Katelyn Finnegan, Alicia Rivera, Maggie Figueroa and Kyli Smith all won gold medals in their respective disciplines. Kena Fairfax, Lauren McPhail, Desmond Spicer, Fernanda Guadiana, Katelyn LaPine, Alissa Moore, Katherine Weaks, Enedina Castro and Monica Williams all collected silver medals.

In addition, Fairfax and Peavy scored a perfect 100 on their parliamentary procedures test. Kena was also recognized for receiving the statesman award for her extensive knowledge of FCCLA.
