Houston County set to hold kindergarten registration
The Houston County School System will register children for Kindergarten beginning May 2, 2016, for the 2016-2017 school year. Parents may register their child at the Central Registration office from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesday.
Students currently enrolled in the system’s Pre-K program will automatically be registered for kindergarten if they will remain in the same school next year. Any Pre-K students who will transfer schools will need to go to Central Registration to register for the new school.
Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before September 1. Only a parent or legal guardian may register a child. The following items are required to register a child: Parent/guardian photo ID, certified birth certificate, guardianship/custody orders if child does not live with his natural parents, lease or mortgage statement, second proof of residence, Social Security card, Georgia Form 3300 (available from a doctor or the Health Department), Georgia Form 3231 (available from a doctor or the Health Department) and proof of eligibility for Medicaid, SSI, TANF, PeachCare or food stamps, if applicable.
Central Registration is located in the Bert Rumble Complex at 303 South Davis Drive in Warner Robins. Central Registration is closed during school system holidays. For more information, please visit the website or call 478-741-3610.
