Monroe schools recommended for accreditation
On Wednesday, the Monroe County school system received a recommendation for its five-year accreditation.
The district got the nod from a review team from AdvancED, an external agency responsible for district-wide accreditation for the past 10 years. That distinction ensures "a standard of quality among credits, courses and grade level placements between schools and universities around the world," according to a release from the district.
The report from the review team, composed of representatives from Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Montana, will now send the report to the AdvancED Accreditation Commission for final approval.
