Renaissance names new leaders at Macon Charter Academy
Macon Charter Academy has a transitional school leadership team, as selected by Renaissance School Services.
Tahisha Edwards, formerly the assistant head of school, will serve as the school's head of school on an interim basis. She replaced Ron Boykins, who resigned last month. Edwards will be joined by Patrice Thurman as International Baccalaureate coordinator and achievement specialist, and Janette Walker will serve as operations specailists.
"All appointees were former MCA employees functioning in similar capacities," MCA board Vice Chairman Joseph Brothers said in an email. "The continuity provided by elevating these leaders from within is making the transition process transparent to our scholars."
The school will also host a pair of parent meetings from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Monday in the school's auditorium.
MCA's next board meeting is set for Jan. 19 at 6 p.m., and meetings will be on the third Tuesday of each month, Brothers said.
