Three Bibb County schools were placed on lockdown Friday morning due to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office conducting a search down the road, according to the school district.

All three schools resumed normal operations around 10 a.m., Bibb County School District Spokesperson Stephanie Hartley said.

Parents were alerted around 9 a.m. that Rutland High School, Rutland Middle School and Porter Elementary School went into lockdown, said Hartley.

Rutland High School and Rutland Middle School are both located along Skipper Road, where the sheriff’s office was conducting a search.

Porter Elementary School along School Road, less than a mile away from Skipper Road, also was put into lockdown as a precaution.
