4 Houston County school leaders will retire, shift roles. Meet their replacements
Four women have been named to lead primary and elementary schools in Houston County, with two scheduled to begin their new roles as early as January.
Following its December board meeting, the Houston County School District announced the new principals for Bonaire Primary, Langston Road Elementary, Langston Road Primary and Miller Elementary schools. All the position changes will take effect in 2026.
The new leaders will replace two principals who are retiring and two who are moving into higher-level positions within the district, according to several press releases the district shared on Monday.
Who are the new leaders?
Bonaire Primary School
Amanda Parker, currently assistant principal at Bonaire Primary and Bonaire Elementary schools, will become principal of Bonaire Primary School in January.
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve the community that I love in this new capacity,” Parker said in a press release. “Thank you to Dr. (Richard) Rogers and the entire Board of Education for entrusting me with the honor and privilege of leading such an incredible team. I am so excited to continue a legacy of excellence at Bonaire Primary School!”
Parker succeeds Principal Ashley Watkins, who will become Coordinator of District & School Effectiveness in January.
Prior to joining the Bonaire family, Parker previously served as school counselor in Castle Rock, Colorado and as an assistant principal in Bulloch County for three years. She brings 18 years of experience in education, including roles as a third and fourth grade teacher.
Langston Road Elementary School
Erin Gramley, assistant principal of instruction at Langston Road Elementary, will take over as principal of Langston Road Elementary School on Jan. 2.
Gramley said she is thrilled and honored to continue serving the Langston Road community in her new leadership role.
“I’m looking forward to continuing the legacy that has already been established at Langston Road Elementary,” she said in a statement. “I intend to uphold our Stallion traditions while ensuring we continue to produce high-achieving students who are prepared to thrive in the future. I truly value each and every one of our students, families, and staff members.”
Gramley will replace current Langston Road Elementary School Principal Kyon Cobb, who will become the district’s coordinator of central registration in January.
Gramley began her career in Houston County in 2011 as a pre-kindergarten teacher and has more than a decade of experience in the district.
Langston Road Primary School
Christie Bergh, assistant principal at Bonaire Primary School, will become principal at Langston Road Primary School in June 2026, succeeding the retiring Principal Kelly Rush.
“I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Rogers and the entire Board of Education for trusting me with the honor of serving as the next principal of Langston Road Primary School. I am truly excited for the opportunity to partner with our amazing staff, families, and community,” said Bergh. “Together, we can kickstart bright futures for every child who walks through our doors.”
A Warner Robins native, Bergh graduated from Warner Robins High School and previously served as an early intervention reading and math teacher and as an instructional coach at Westside Elementary. She has 10 years of experience as a classroom teacher.
Miller Elementary School
Tiana Johnson, assistant principal of instruction at David Perdue Elementary, will become principal of Miller Elementary School in June 2026, succeeding retiring Principal Dana Brock.
“I am truly excited to continue fostering a culture of academic excellence, and I look forward to building strong, meaningful, and lasting relationships with every Miller rocket,” she said.
Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Fort Valley State University in 2003 and worked in insurance before pursuing education. She taught in the Bibb County School District.
Before assuming her current role, Johnson taught for 12 years in Houston County schools.
