Macon library offering free computer classes

Free computer classes are being taught at Washington Memorial Library.

Two introductory classes, Computer Basics and Internet Basics, are taught as well as intermediate classes such as Résumé Writing, Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 and Microsoft Publisher 2007, according to a news release.

Students learn through hands-on experience in the new computer lab featuring 70 computers on the library’s second floor.

Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Class schedules are available at any library branch, online at www.co.bibb.ga.us/library or by calling 744-0825. Group classes are available with advance reservations by calling Catie Tierney at 744-0825.

A Pines library card, which is available free of charge at any library branch, is necessary to attend a class.

The classes are made possible by a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and in partnership with the Bibb County Commission.
