Macon State adopts new logo for mascot
Macon State unveiled Thursday a new logo for its Blue Storm mascot that was chosen by students, faculty and staff last fall, a news release said.
The new logo incorporates the head of a horse, a tribute to the college’s former mascot of Mustangs.
Joe Bosack Graphic Design presented two logos for the campus community, and about 55 percent of the 620 responses went to the logo that was selected.
Blue Storm was selected as the school’s mascot last fall, coming from the school’s blue-and-gold color scheme.
The “storm” was suggested because it is powerful and threatening, containing energy, wind, lightning, thunder and force.
