The $2,213,161 was raised by 190 donors that included faculty, staff, alumni and full participation by the Wesleyan Board of Trustees.

“This unbelievable showing of support has provided funds to deepen and reach into new international markets, creating global opportunities for our students,” Blight said.

Some of the money will go toward a new scholarship program for local women through a new community initiative entitled the “Working Warriors” program. The program will provide two women from the local area with full scholarships (one undergraduate, one graduate) to Wesleyan College.

“This new program is aimed to provide flexible learning options for women who have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, who come from marginalized backgrounds, or who simply want to re-skill and retool to improve their lives and the lives of their families,” Blight said.
