University names conference center after longtime supporter

A building on Middle Georgia State University’s Macon campus now bears the name of a longtime supporter. During a ceremony Nov. 27, the 2009 conference center was named in honor of Robert Hatcher Sr.

Hatcher was formerly the chairman of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and now serves on the President’s Advisory Board and is chairman of the University’s Building a Legacy of Greatness Campaign. He and his family have supported the university for many years.

“When Bob Hatcher and his family support you, they make sure that their support will make a difference,” President Christopher Blake said.
