Teacher news: Houston educators receive scholarships, honors

▪  Libbet Turner, a Spanish teacher at Warner Robins High School, and Laura Hilton, world languages teacher at Northside High School, received scholarships from the Santillana Foundation to study in Spain for a week in July.

▪  Career and Technical Education supervisors Karma Hayes, from Houston County High, and Chad Simmons, from Northside High School, were recognized for completing a yearlong CTAE supervisors’ training.

▪  Lt. Col. Michael J. Barrett III, senior aerospace science instructor for Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps at Warner Robins High, is the Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education Teacher of the Year.
