Bibb district accepting applications for magnet schools

Applications for Bibb County magnet schools are now online. They can be completed electronically at https://www.bcsdk12.net until Dec. 12.

The district’s magnet schools are Alexander II Math & Science Magnet School, Burdell-Hunt Communications Magnet School and Vineville Academy of the Arts, all for kindergarten through fifth grade; Miller Fine Arts Magnet Middle School; and Central Fine Arts & International Baccalaureate Magnet High School.

Open houses are planned at each of the schools: 5:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at Miller; 9-11 a.m. Nov. 28 and 5-7 p.m. Dec. 4 at Vineville Academy; 6-7 p.m. Nov. 29 at Central; 9-11 a.m. and 5-7 p.m. Dec. 5 at Alexander II; and 9-11 a.m. and 5-7 p.m. Dec. 6 at Burdell-Hunt;

Call 478-765-8595 if you need help with the application or access to it, or call the central office 478-779-2300 to make an appointment for assistance. Parents may visit any elementary or middle magnet school from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. on schools days between now and Dec. 12 to fill out the application.
