Future leaders convene at Georgia College
High school students from across the state have been honing their leadership skills at Georgia College in Milledgeville. Ninety teens in grades 10-12 are participating in the 10th annual summer leadership institute, offered by 21st Century Leaders and Georgia Power.
The event, called Earthcare: The Challenge of the 21st Century, started June 11 and concludes Sunday. It’s themed around leadership and environmental sustainability, and students are from 59 high schools in 29 counties.
They have been able to meet Georgia Power professionals, community leaders and area officials and participate in critical thinking workshops, tours, roundtable sessions and team-building activities.
