Two local students collected used cellphones to help a local organization. Mount de Sales Academy sophomore Eleanor Anderson and freshman Benjamin Smith gathered more than 100 used cellphones at their school and sold them to a recycling company. They donated the $55 they earned from the drive to Crisis Line and Safe House of Central Georgia.

In other school news, senior Ryan Murphey was named the Mount de Sales Scholar/Citizen/Athlete of the Year by the National Football Foundation and the College Football Hall of Fame Middle Georgia Chapter.
