You could say Jorge Mulhall is the wisest of Georgia Military College’s 2017 graduates.

The 68-year-old is the oldest student to earn a degree from the Milledgeville campus, according to a news release. He has completed his computer science associate’s degree with a 3.44 grade point average.

Mulhall, an international student, came to Middle Georgia two years ago after retiring from his job in Brazil. He decided to continue his education and enrolled at GMC.

“I thought that I had to keep my brain in exercise, so I decided to study,” Mulhall said in the news release. “Like I tell my peers, I’m not here to pass, I’m here to learn. Studying was a great gift for me in terms of keeping me aware and keeping my health up.”

Next up, he’ll pursue a bachelor of applied science degree in business management at the school.
