Local students learn about marine biology careers
Thirty students at Cirrus Academy Charter School in Macon went on a day trip to Savannah State University in April. They met with marine scientists in the Marine and Environmental Science Center and participated in interactive activities.
The goal of the trip was to expose students to careers in marine biology and other unique jobs in science, technology, engineering, arts and math, according to the school. The third-, fourth- and fifth-grades selected for the trip displayed strong character and high academic achievement.
