A Mercer alumnae has organized a health and wellness fair for the local Hispanic community. The March 18 event at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church was developed by Kim Belanger-Giguere, a 2016 graduate.

Belanger-Giguere majored in psychology and minored in biology and was a Tift Scholar and member of the University Honors Program.

The free fair, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., will offer services related to diabetes, cholesterol, vision, body mass index, blood pressure, blood glucose and dental needs. There also will be information on nutrition, mental health, immigration and finances, as well as games for children, door prizes and a chance to “ask the doctor.”

The church is at 131 Ward St. in Macon. For more information on the event, call 478-301-5345 or email MaconHispanicHealthFair@gmail.com.
